Today's cars are battery hogs so don't expect more than 3-5 years at the most out of them.
The battery from factory always have Saab logo on them (but made by Interstate) so it sounds like this has been replaced before if it says Interstate on it.
Battery quality overall also seems to have gone down on all brands but it might be related to that they have to work so hard to keep a modern car alive.
You have the MTP-91 which is a direct replacement of the Saab battery and then you have the MT-48 which is the same exact dimensions and style but a little bit less cold cranking amps and less money.
MT-48 is what Volvo recommend use in many of their new cars so I have no problem using them in Saabs too.
It is also a date code burned into the plastic housing so maybe you have some money left on the pro rated warranty if you get another Interstate.
