I jsut read another one of the posrs in this thread which said the odometer reading accuracy is not affected by the speedometer error. This is completely false!!! I plotted the trip on the GPS which was also plotted using Yahoo maps (which uses Navteq. When I completed the trip and deducted the 5% from the total driving distance displayed on the odometer it was exactly what the Yahoo maps route I took listed! When you zero/reset the SID the odometer value is zeroed in the unit and a new reference point for the fuel calculation is noted. Everything is referenced from the same place in the system. If you take a trip and reset everything when you begin and check against an accurate reference then you will see that everything is off by the same amount (in my case 5%). It is pretty difficult to beat the accuracy of GPS with typically 8-9 satellites computing your speed.
I will be looking at total tire circumferance for the OEM tire as supplied on the 9-5 Aero and comparing it with brand new tires which I may purchase in the future. I particularly enjoy the Goodyear Eagle F1 tire that I had on my last 9-5 Aero as they are excellent high perfromance tires which also are extremely quiet on most road surfaces.
