Regluing the seat covering Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Thu, 18 Jan 2007 11:09:14 In Reply to: Re: Reattaching seat covers, JG, Thu, 18 Jan 2007 10:24:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The instructions the link takes you to are great! However, it is not necessary to separate the seat back and bottom for your specific problem.
I've had this occur 3 times on different seats....the original driver's seat, the passenger seat, and the replacement driver's seat on my 268K mile 9-5 Aero.
Once you have the seat out use some trim adhesive to glue the seat cover to the metal pan. You'll be able to see the plastic recess that fits over the edge of the metal seat pan. Fill the recess with glue; don't worry about being sloppy....only your friends that lay on the floor and look under the seat will be able to see that you were not very very neat.
Let the seat sit over night to set up the glue. Then reinstall; do not turn on the ignition until all of the wiring has been reconnected.
