First - thanks, everyone for your help! I don't think the parking brake was set, as my normal procedure (having left the car with the transmission in its normal position for exiting the car - reverse, a Saab habit of many years and several different 5-speed Saabs...) is to start the car like this:
Depress clutch, start, shift to neutral, check mirrors, shift to reverse, back out of driveway. Then back to neutral briefly, shift to 1st and drive off. Nothing involving the parking brake.
HOWEVER, it was pretty snowy this morning. I don't remember if I had started up, put on the parking brake, then gotten out to brush off the snow, leaving the car running. You know, it's entirely possible. But I do know when the warning lights came on, the first one I spotted was the Brake icon, and I instinctively looked down at the parking brake handle and found it to be in the fully down position.
I'm still going to take the car in to the dealer since I have another 9 days of CPO warranty. The ABS system is full of expensive repair potential, so better to be safe than sorry.
I'll post the results of the Tech II check next week.
