Now that you mention it, it does seem silly to have to push that button all the while waiting for the seat to 'finish' its move. And sometimes it's a little tough to listen for the side mirror adjustment, so you get in and then have to push it again whn you realize the mirrors didn't move. But I've been using the time while I hold the button constructively -- I look at how much trash has accumulated on the driver's side floor (and think of reasons why it's not enough to warrant me dragging out the vacuum). Holding the button also passes as a form of exercise for me -- since I don't think I can touch my toes anymore, reaching down and holding the button is kinda like a workout!
Seriously though, does anyone know of a car that also has memory setting for the rear-view mirror? I think, in addition to Bevan's suggestions, that this would be a neat added value as well. Maybe not easy to do (electric to that part of the windshield seems impractical), but just one other thing that is constantly adjusted in cars driven by multiple drivers.
