Having the same problem, I pulled out the black buttons to the left of the SID, which allowed me to just push out the sid from behind.
From there, you can just reach in and get the switch. If it makes you feel any better, mine broke without any contact from a ski tip; just by pushing the button.
Saab wanted somewhere north of $42 IIRC. I'm debating used at goldwing or ebay had them for $17 w/shipping if you look. Older ones may be brittle (thanks Herb).
I was going to pick one up while I was looking for the replacement tabs for the cowl (Had the bummer windsheild wiper linkage break, too) and Saab wanted $29 each for the small plastic clip. I was so discusted that I bagged the whole deal. Maybe I'll pull the switch out and see if I can come up w/an epoxy fix, first.
