Yes - that's the exact problem. The service writer at the dealer suggested using the wheel refinisher the dealer uses. It's one of those mobile franchise outfits that comes to the dealership (or, I suppose, to your own driveway...) and does the job on the spot. I have been told that this is actually done with the wheels still on the car.
Right now, my BBS wheels and summer tires are sitting in plastic bags in my garage, so I guess it's time to make up my mind about having them redone. Anyone else have any experience with refinishing BBS wheels? I have not looked closely, but I suspect that the BBS problem has something to do with the actual junction between the wheel parts - either some kind of friction, corrosive brake dust getting stuck in there beyond the abilites of cleaning to remove, or maybe a little of each. Ideas?
