my new snow tires started creating some vibration and then noise. today was the first day I could get them of and found the right (rear) tire severely cupped and the left (rear) moderately cupped.

last time on my 9000CSE I had one fairly cupped. since the tire was under warrently I ignored the techs theory it was a bad strut. Of course it never returned so I doubt it was the rear suspension.

Since the 9-5 has a different looking rear setup i'm curious to other causes to run two new snow tires. in ohio we have 6 inches of snow one day and dry pavement the next so they do see quite a bit of hard surface during the winter. additionally i'm very conservative with my checking tire pressure and they were rebalanced prior to the winter season.

I'm sure when I order new summer tires I will have a 4 wheel alignment done and road force balance but anything else to consider? all visible bushings looked good, everything seemed tight.

so we swapped left to right to balance out the wear and the vibration is gone but not the sound.
