A competent tire shop can check the rim(s) for trueness & runout. Yokohama tyres have served me very well on my classic 900. Many of their tyres are directional so see if yours are & if so are installed correctly.
It is not said if it was rear or front that took the brunt of the impact but if the rr shock is blown & the impact was on the front, I would look further into the front suspension. Once tyres are scalloped, it is very hard to correct. The amount of weight on the one rim most likely reflects the tyre more than the rim but it could be both. If you cannot get satisfaction from the alignment shop, you might look into a body shop that has a frame rack to check things out & then align.
