My experience and Saab's Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Sun, 25 Mar 2007 14:56:08 In Reply to: Plug questions, steve, Sat, 24 Mar 2007 13:41:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I would stick with the plugs that Saab currently recommends, NGK PFR6H-10's.
My 2000 9-5 Aero came with NGK PFR7H-10's. Saab changed their recommendation a couple of years after I got my car. The rational was that for a mixture of local and highway driving the NGK PFR6H-10's were a better compromise. For pure interstate driving at speeds of 70 mph or higher the NGK PFR7H-10's were a better choice.
Up until 2 years ago I was doing interstate driving almost exclusively, so for the first 250K miles of my car's life I used the NGK PFR7H-10's with good results....gas mileage was high (32-35 mpg) and performance was great. When I retired 2 years ago, I switched to the NGK PFR6H-10's with good results.
Hope that the above helps a little.....
