As I posted earlier, I finally am getting my dad to leave the dark side (M-B) and rejoin the Saab family after a 10 year hiatus.
I found a Hazelnut '04 Arc with 33k miles, CPO, premium package, bi-xenons, park assist, etc. The price is $18,000 (will be closer to $14,000 after absurdly low trade) from a reputable dealer (Central Saab in Norwood, MA). The car drives awesome, interior is perfect, exterior is a 9 out of 10 (little scrapage under the front spoiler).
BUT, after a close inspection on my part today, I found that the rear lights on the driver's side don't line up with the trunk, meaning the trunk is not aligned properly. Also the bumper sticks out a bit from the body where it meets the quarter panel at the rear of the wheel arch.
So obviously it had been hit from behind. Nothing showed up on the Carfax, and the dealer can't CPO it if it had been in a major accident. There is ZERO overspray! I'm extremely OCD about noticing overspray, and there definitely is none on the car.
Would you avoid this car? He's still thinking about it if their body shop can fix it up perfectly. I'm a little nervous about further problems down the line.
Your thoughts?
