Ugh,
With my water pump and thermostat done you know it was time for something else to act up. I'm just so sick and [BLEEEEEP] tired of throwing money at my land rocket. My gas gauge has been on the fritz for a few months now. Empty to full to empty again. This past week I noticed that I've been getting approx. 14 MPG per the SID. Sensing something was wrong I stopped at a gas station expecting to top off my 3/4 tank and pumped 9 gallons of gas into the car. After the fillup the gas gauge went to zero and low fuel light...
Initially I attributed the loss of MPG to to the mystery suspension clunk that silenced itself last week but has left me with loose steering that pulls to either side at times. Now it's apparent the gauge was untrue for a while.
I am afraid that this is either tank baffle or fuel pump sending unit... or the connectors under the seat but I doubt it because of the untrue gauge over the past week. I hate having to throw my money at it but I need a damn fuel gauge.....
It would be of great help if somebody could tell me how my mechanic would diagnose whether its the sending unit or tank baffle? How can I know?
Does anybody know the cost of either job? I plan on piking up the fuel pump used....
pissed that it's always something
MM
PS- my auto dim drivers side mirror works on and off...the other two mirrors are fine. Any ideas where to start?
