I bought a CPO 9-5 from the "East Side" dealer (longish Posted by Wil W [Email] (#1148) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Wil W) on Fri, 6 Apr 2007 08:29:42 In Reply to: CPO vehicle quantity?, burlybryan, Wed, 4 Apr 2007 12:09:38 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
burlybryan,
I bought my '02 9-5 Aero Wagon from the Maplewood dealer; I didn't realize the Minnetonka dealer didn't sell CPO's.
Anyway, my sales experience was quite good with them and I would rate my vehicle at 90% when I got it. The salesman was new to car sales but and experienced business person. He was very straight, honest and fair with me. I konw I didn't get the best deal nor do I think I overpaid. I would say it was fair deal since they rarely had a CPO'd Aero Wagon in Silver, Gray, or Blue.
Overall the car was in great shape and mechanically sound. Bad: some rock chips on the hood, minor scuffs/scratches on the rear bumber (loading of wagon), and a missing cigarette lighter cover. Good: leather was in perfect shape no signs of wear, stretching, wrinkles, etc. (PO must have been like a <100# old lady). New Tires, brakes, mats, etc.
I had a few minor concerns/questions initially: rough idle, soft/weaker brakes, pop sound from brakes, etc. - it was a new car to me. I took it back after a few days and the Service Manager told me the car was one of their cars and was serviced with them. He remembered the car and said that it was a really good solid car. He seemed very honest and trustworthy and he took me out for a drive and explained/answered my questions. I was comparing to my other car, an '89 SPG. He told me all the stuff was normal and set my mind at ease. After talking with him more back at the dealer, I found out he actually goes to my church so that put my mind even more at ease.
So far, I've been back to replace front control arm/tie rods since they were making noises, and various light bulbs. I've also been going there for oil changes so they can look over the car. They charge labor only (~16) and I bring my oil M1 and filters.
Send me an e-mail if you need any more info or questions.
