I've never seen the (Assy: Kentucky) Camry and Accord (Assy: Ohio & Mexico) compared to a 9-5. Live and learn!
The Acura TL (Assy: Ohio) and Lexus IS (or ES) 350 (Assy: Japan) are more likely comparisons. They are also both heavier than the 9-5 and have 6-cyl engines which produce 258HP and 306HP, respectively. The Accord and Camry have 166HP and 158HP from their 4-cyls... with a lot less torque than a 9-5 (260HP). I imagine the equally equipped Camry and Accord are just as heavy as a 9-5... maybe heavier. (A Saab 9-5 is about 3400 lbs)
The TL has 233 ft-lbs of torque at 5000 RPM.
The Lexus IS 350 has 277 at 4800
The 9-5 has 258 from 1900-4500 RPM
You get 160 from an Accord at 4000 RPM and 161 out of a Camry at 4000.
Now if you could only get any of those others in a wagon!
