I went from a 94 Aero to an 02 Aero SW, both 5 speeds. I did the k&n and jt 3" turbo back exhaust on the 94, which pulled hard in all rpm ranges, right up to the day I traded it with 202k miles. I also ran 225's, with unlimited handling confidence. I would not have traded it, but for the fact that the tranny and clutch were original (not slipping at all) as was the timing chain and ac compressor, all of which were destined to go, and I did not want a bill for repairs that exceeded the value of the car.

The 94 seats were much better than the 02, but they could not put airbags in the recarro winged seats. The 94 sound system, with h-k eq, also sounded much better, but the 02 has the sub in the way back to compensate.

I initially thought I made a big mistake, as the 02 felt slow and soft in immediate comparison, but the zenons, rear park assist, rain sensing wipers, etc., grow on you real quick. If you tick off the esp, it comes alive, and now that I have 20k plus in it, I feel it corners every bit as nice. If you open up its breathing with the re-designed air intake ( which has to be at least 30% larger and I think was added in 04) add a k&n, and brs steg 1 the software, you'll agree its one heck of a ride averaging 26mpg mixed, which is much smoother and more refined in many ways.

I plan to do a 3" downpipe soon, to minimize lag and open up untapped power in the lower rpms as my final mod.

All in all, I have no regrets whatsoever.
