I thought Saab didn't use wear indicators anymore? You really have to look just look at them. I had been getting terrible grinding sounds when I hit the brakes so I took look at them. (I have the 5-spoke rims so I can see through pretty easily, if you have the 10 spokes you may want to take the wheel off). The outer pad had a little less than a 1/4" of pad left so I thought there wasn't too much to worry about. The grinding got worse so I ordered pads and rotors. When I got in there to replace them it turned out that the inner pads were worn quite a but more than then outers. The rivets in the pads were grinding against the rotors and were visible within the pad material. If you look at them and there looks to be plenty of pad left you can just bend the indicators out of the way until you get them replaced.
