Thanks - I have XM - it came with the car. The thought of paying an anathmetic subscription fee to listen to the radio for weather is only slightly less odious than the thought of having to pay a dealer a hundred bucks to marry a privately purchased oem cd changer to a radio I already own. I have been fortunate enough so far to have found codes on the web for (ahem) discounted XM subscription fees, but when they dry up, the cubby hole will return. BTW - the XM antenna did a great job on the deck lid paint. I removed it to the package shelf where it can do no more harm and it works as well. If I were the emporer, SAAB would include a cd changer capable of playing 10 mp3 disks, and leave the radio as it was. Also, as long as you're here suffering my rant, what was wrong with "Black Panel?"
On topic: Washers were there, with a loose ground. Probably disturbed when the XM was installed.
4th SAAB. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I yearn for the day when detailing the SAAB 96 amounted to hosing out the floors. How about a freewheeling 9-5?
