I actually have tried the AutoRX product in my son's 1995 Saturn SL-1 beater. The car suffered from excessive oil consumption... about 1 liter in less than 1000 kM. The first time he changed the oil, less than 1.5 liters came out because, despite my ragging on him, he did not check the oil frequently in a car new to him. I read where this Saturn 4 cyl is prone to sludged up oil rings.
After researching and reading about AutoRX on Bob Is The Oil Guy (BITOG), I risked it and ordered some direct from AutoRX. After carefully following the instructions, we had success after a few weeks cleaning time. That was over 2 years ago and since the oil consumption is 1 liter in 4000 kM! As a precaution, my son adds a coule ounces of RX with each change now.
AutoRX is a non-agressive, slow working cleaner that must only be used with non-synthetic oil for the cleaning cycle. Google AutoRX and read all about it. I would say risking a couple thousand kM with non-synth in a V6 would be reasonable. It is non-hazardous and can be shipped via normal mail parcel post.
This is quite the recovery for the cost and I have never been nearly as satisfied with any other additive product.
