Saab changed the name on them in their litterature some years ago and they now go by IDM (Ignition Discharge Module).

The parts catalog though says Ignition cassette still.

No, I don't why they changed it but maybe with all the failures that was happening and that it was commonly known as the DIC by many posters made them rethink the name???

And by the way, it only says Direct Ignition on top of the module, and that might just mean the type of ignition system that the cassette/module provides or the concept of it not the name of the part?
