Just to go in and replace the thermostat without doing any other repairs would end up around $400.00 or just below including several intake manifold gaskets if everything goes smoothly with no parts corroded solid.
If you skimp on some of the intake manifold gaskets, you could shave off $100.00 but I wouldn't do the job that way since you might end up with a vacuum leak.
Some cars have a lot of sand accumulated in between cylinder banks so those cars takes longer to take apart since you don't want any sand inside the engine. It's not as easy as to just blow the sand out before since you have to take part of the intake off before it is visible.
