Thanks Anders. Yeah, I had a long discussion with my independent Saab/Volvo specialist a few weeks ago when it first started overheating this year once the weather warmed up. He suggested that it may be a temperature sensor because the gauge was reading hot but the coolant reservoir never boiled over. Worst case scenario it's the t-stat. The car has been overheating slightly going up hills with the A/C on (the gauge reaches about 10:30 and I turn the A/C off and slow down a bit and it goes back to normal) and then when I turn the car off the gauge spikes - twice it has reached the red and I get all sorts of bells chiming at me when I come back to start the car 10 min. later. This weekend, however, cruising down the highway doing about 75mph at 2500ish rpm with tons of air blowing into the radiator and having the temp gauge start creeping up is making me think it's time to finally bring it in for some diagnostics. (Don't worry, we're not just going to throw parts at it). Hopefully it will be easy to figure out and won't put too much a dent in my wallet. Thanks again Anders!
