First: You could try the following for the electronic parts you need or will be needing. These sources sell used parts from wrecked Saabs. The savings can be substantial. As an example I bought an almost new OEM catalytic converter for $300 versus $1,500 from Saab; an entir seat assy. (like new) cost only $250 versus $2,500 from Saab.

Second: I would carefully replace all fluids. Water in the oil will doom the engine to a short life, or the transmission to expensive problems. Water in the gas will prevent the car from running...gas floats to the top (it's lighter) and the gas pickup is low where it can draw up the water in the gas tank. Water in the power steering system can lead to problems.

Third: Be suspicious of all electronics below the high water level.

Forth: Be suspicious that there may be problems in the clutch/transmission area...they've been submerged.

Fifth: Suspension, brake system, and wheel bearings have all been submerged. My first Model 99 was submerged briefly, unknown to either the dealer or myself...all four wheel bearings, the clutch and transmission were eventually replaced under warranty.

Brian...good luck...you're a brave soul.
