or equip the car with options you have been looking at. I have found their prices reasonably accurate. You can try other sites, such as Edmund.
The CarsDirect price should give you the upper limit of what you can get the car for. That doesn't mean you can get it at the dealer you have gone to. The CarsDirect price should at least be a reasonable guide.
Dealer holdback is exactly that, unless a dealer is desperate to deal, they don't like to discuss that.
You want to get a good deal but remember a dealer is out to make some money to cover costs and overhead as well. The dealer is not going to sell you a car at or below cost even if it is costing them money to carry the inventory.
No, I don't work for a dealer or even remotely connect with one but just remember it's a business deal. Focus on the car you want to buy and negotiate from there. Ignore irrelevant "facts", such as "just sold the car with the bonus cash", if I hear the salesperson say things like that be prepare to walk or just ask for another salesperson. You can always ask for another salesperson, ask to talk to the sales manager directly and as always, prepare to walk if you don't feel right.
