vibration in gear-dead mount ?

I have a lot of vibration while switching to gear from neutral (also what feels cavitation when under load around 55mph-not sure it's related) and I suspect the torque rod to be the culprit since the rubber part has a lot of play (for a picture of the mount, see http://www.thesaabsite.com/95/95mounts.htm, part 5230693).

1. does anyone have a lot of play on the torque mount, is it normal, does it translate into vibes
2. has anyone experienced issues with the transmission mount (could check it without some dissassembly)
3. any other idea re: the vibes
for record, I have a 02 linear, 77K, apparently well maintained (got it at 63K, lots of records available indicating good maintenance)
