like everyone else says, it will get worse over time. Coolant under pressure flowing through it is slowly pushing it apart, working at that crack.
But you can still avoid a trip in the Prius:
1 - epoxy putty (or any epoxy) can fix this thing temporarily
2 - there is a way to connect the hoses to "bypass the bypass valve" ... I cant remember how though. anyone?
3 - you can buy the part at a local caddy dealer and pop it in before your trip.
