When I bought my 9-5 Aero CPO in 2005, the sales invoice was clearly marked Saab Certified Pre-Owned, although only in writing by the salesman. (I of course had gotten the VIN checked out beforehand to make sure that it was an "official" CPO.) I never got much from Saab except about 3 months later when I received a beautifully packaged Saab fleece blanket and some sort of form letter congratulating me on my purchase and welcoming me to the Saab family blah blah blah.
So Saab will probably get around to sending you this year's edition of the Official Swag Item, but as you've noted, it's the Iris service records that really count, as far as the CPO is concerned.
IMHO SaabUSA's customer service has gone steadily downhill in the past couple of years. The people answering their phones really don't know anything about the cars and just read from canned scripts.
