HELP! Generic replacement for caliper bolt??? Posted by Saabpilot [Email] (#134) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabpilot) on Sat, 8 Sep 2007 20:22:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Tonight I finally got time to replace my brake pads on my '03 9-5 Aero with Akebono Euro ceramics.
I broke off an allen wrench in one of the caliper bolts. Yeah, I know, cheap tools equals results like this.
The head of the allen is stuck and to make a long story short, I finally got the bolt out using vice grips but the allen head is destroyed.
Tomorrow is Sunday, so the parts dept of the one and only Saab dealer in town is closed. Has anyone used a generic bolt to replace one of these caliper bolts? If so, what size? Is there any reason a generic bolt wouldn't work?
Any help would be most appreciated.
