This being Texas there aren't many Saabs around. I think my Saab is the only one he's seen in his shop when we change the oil, however, I trust his experience and opinion.
Although he's not sure what it is right now, he's thinking it might be a solenoid or shaft speed sensor. When my wife described how it would stall (just die as opposed to bucking and then stalling) he said that was somewhat promising that it wouldn't be *I forget*.
One thing he threw out was the shaft speed sensors as he sees quite a bit of those on other cars. He's going to roadtest it tomorrow and hopes the tranny doesn't slip.
