So last night, cleaned the EVAP purge valve and really cleaned out the TB, then cleared the CEL codes. Took it for a short test drive, seemed to run good, put it in the garage and hoped for a better day.
This morning, starts up fine, drive about 1mile….CEL light back on again! Won't have a chance to see the codes until tonight…
Over lunch, I am re-reading the posts about re-setting the LHM on the TB and realize I have never checked to see if mine had tripped or not.
Why? Other than an occasional hint of roughness, I thought due to other issues it largely ran fine. Plenty of power up to 80mph, can use the cruise, AC works but sometimes makes it run a bit rougher, so I figure no way can I be in LHM!
Just checked and my "pedal arm" and "throttle arm" move in together in lock step, held tight by the spring coil. I assume that this means I AM in LHM? Correct? So how can the car still run so well? Will try to reset tonight...
Back to the EVAP Purge Valve, so just when exactly does that thing open up anyway? I tested it a few different ways last night and it never opened. Good vacuum on one side, nothing on the other. How can I test to make sure that it is opening when it should?
Thanks
