I have a '02 9-5 Aero w/52k miles and need new brakes. I was having some warranty work done at Sheehan Saab so I asked them to check and got quoted $550 for 4 pads, or $1100 for pads and rotors!! He also said our rotors cant be turned or re-surfaced? Is that true?
I work at a dealership myself so I asked our service advisor what the labor hours come to and was told 2hrs max for pads or 4hrs for pads and rotors. Even at $100/hr they were trying to get an extra $200-300 out of me. I couldnt believe they tried to do that to me, but thats another story...

So I decided to order my own pads and after reading all the reviews I think Im going with the Akebono's. I'm just confused if the Akebono's from GenuineSaab.com are the same as the Euro's from Tirerack.com and if eEurosports.com has the Akembono's or just OEM GM pads. I spoke with a rep. at eEurosports and they said they didnt say Akembono anywhere on the pads or the box. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

GenuineSaab.com has #12759808 OEM Akebono's at $81 for front pads, and #5058110 OEM (not sure if they're Akebono?) at $62 for the rear set.

eEurosports.com has #5532544 OEM genuinesaab(not sure if they're Akebono?) at $80 for the front pads, and #5058110G OEM at $62 for the rears.

Tirerack.com has the Akebono Euro Ceramic pads at $78 for the front and $77 for the rears.

Thanks in advance for your input, and Happy Saabing!

David
