I have been using the Fumoto valve for about 4 years on various vehicles. I currently have them on my Ford truck and my Saab. I have never had a problem with them. The models I use have a nipple on them so I can use a small piece of hose to direct the oil into a container. If I were to hit something that would damage or open the valve, I would have broken the oil pan first. It does take longer for the oil to drain because the opening is smaller. So people believe you don’t get a cleaning rush of old oil coming out like you would with a traditional plug.
