Let me pile on. I have a 2001 Aero with a one year old (best guess) Interstate battery that tests out fine at AutoZone. It drains the battery in almost the blink of an eye. All I have to do leave the parking lights on for five minutes, or listen to the radio with the key in the ignition switch, or have turned the ignition switch to any position but off and left it in that position for more than a few minutes. However, if the radio is on with the engine running and then I shut down the engine and remove the key, I can leave the radio playing for hours with no significant drain on the battery that prevents me from restarting the engine. I don't understand how if I don't do any of the above the battery always has plenty of power to engage a starter solenoid and crank over an engine for weeks at a time, even if the car is not driven daily. Also, how come my other cars will let anyone stupidly run the A/C with the headlights on, radio blaring, etc. for a long time WITHOUT the engine running?
