Car steams up inside

Living in Portland Oregon, we are getting lots of rain at the moment. If I use the HVAC system and keep it out of economy mode, the car windows stay pretty clear. If I try and heat/defrost in economy mode, my SAAB turns into a sauna to the point the windows are dripping wet. It especially condenses on the underside of the sunroof. If I place the system into recirculation mode, I get a lot more condensation than in frsh air mode. Yesterday I was coming home from work and a mile before my house I turned the fan on high and the recirculation on to make sure the evaporator was dried out before I parked it and the windows fogged up so fast I couldn't see where I was going - not good. Can this be normal? I just changed the cabin filter but no improvement. Any suggestions or is this another SAAB feature.
