I know that there is not unanimity of agreement on this point; in fact this may even start a small fight. I do not believe that brush replacement on the cabin ventilation motor is usually worthwhile.
A year ago when my motor finally stopped completely I took it out thinking that I might go the brush replacement route. However, after 265K miles the groove in the commutator was 2-3m deep. And the motor bearings were dry. So, I replaced the motor and replaced the car about a year later....so now the new owner will have to wait a couple of hundred thousand miles before he has to replace the motor again.
IMHO....replacing the brushes without replacing the bearings and commutator may give you a working motor with a dubious life expectancy. If you place any value on your time the effort may not be worthwhile.
