what is the no-start symptom?
cranks but no start:
CPS - usually fails hot, and is ok after cool down but not always. It usually shows up as no start but *can* fail while driving causing the engine to stall out. You can check the CPS with an ohm meter. Search the board for the specs.
IDM (aka DIC)- thesaabsite has a test procedure. Swap in a known good is just as easy. you can swap in a red one from your 9000 just to see if it starts, many will limp home on a red IDM. I would not recommend running with a red one for any length of time.
Fuel Pump - Herb and Les gave excellent advice on that.
Intake tube (for lack of better term) ... I mean the black tube that connects to the top of the TB. If it comes loose (it can pop off under boost) the engine will stall out. possibly idle but very poorly if at all. It will try to start and stumble.
No crank, just click:
- dead battery.
- corrosion in the battery cables, possibly extending up the cable under the insulation
No crank, no nuthin:
- Neutral safety switch. There is a "paper clip workaround" search for that.
- loose battery cable at the starter.
