I have a 99 9-5 2.3 sedan and 01 SE 9-5 station wagon.
Living in Minne-snow-ta, the weather has gotten pretty cold and I am needing the heat on all the time. As I drive about in either vehicle I find that the heat in the 01 wagon is warmer at lower temps. (if that makes sense).
Let me explain:
I have both cars set to 74 F.
In the 01 wagon, the car quickly gets up to temp and then maintains a comfortable level.
In the 99 sedan the car gets up to temp, maintains it for a short while, then I find it blows cold on my feet legs, for about 5-10 minutes (while still blowing warm air from the top vents). To get it up to a comfortable level where I don't have to touch the thermostat, I need to bump up the temp to around 78-80F.
Why is this? Is this a difference between model years or is it a issue with the car? BTW, running Auto+Off yeilds no codes or anything. All fluids are recently serviced and topped off.
