Hi, part of the problem is that, unlike the 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th axes, it is hard to pin-point the exact location of the 5th gear. I think it is spaced further apart than the rest. How early do you shift to 5th-gear? I started to avoid the shift-up light on the dash and rev-up fairly high on 4th before shifting up. This gives me enough time to push the lever to the right (left for you), find the proper line of least resistance, and then engage the 5th gear before the RPM drops out too low. This helped a bit. Even shifting out from 5th to neutral seems rather violent compared to the rest. Needs more effort to disengage, too -- feels like a a lot of spring-loaded energy. I can't offer any other hints, unfortunately. I just had the transmission flushed, but that didn't seem to have changed anything. It could be the linkage, but I don't know. I've had this since I purchased the car used with 30000km on it, so I thought it was normal. May be it is. Did you always have this issue or is it a recent occurrence?
