Since you mention that ride comfort is the issue, you might do a lot better looking at touring vs performance tires (softer sidewall for touring, etc). TireRack has a lot of reviews; you can see how your current tires rate for ride comfort, noise, etc.
You would be increasing the tire radius by a little over an inch - right at the edge of what tire rack recommends (3% of diameter) for for sedans. I doubt think you'll start rubbing, except maybe on hard turns. - but you can check ith a ruler to see if you get close to the edge.
Revolutions per mile changes pretty significantly - ~ 844 stock vs ~803 for the 225/50/17's - so speedometer and milage need recalibrating; not sure what else.
An alternative moving to 16" rims - 225/50/16 is a much closer diameter match to the stock tires. Keep a set of 17" rims witth performance tires for when you want a bit of spirted handling; run the others as daily driver. I think the Aero can handle 16" rims - they were recommended for snow tires on my 2000.
