Hey my cousin just got her license and they are beginning to search for cars for her. I'm trying to recommend a 9-5, and they don't seem to be opposed. We found a 2003 Linear sedan with 116k miles for a very reasonable price. I know 2003 is a pretty reliable year, but anything else to look out for? I know about SID, ACC blend doors, and all that normal Saab stuff, but I just want to double check the sludge issue. That's pretty much taken care of, right? (Provided it's been well-taken care of). And it should have the latest PCV? Which turbo do they use on these? Is it any better than the (very-expensive) GT-17 I just replaced on my V6? How about the timing chain? I'm used to the belt on my V6. I know the chains are pretty reliable but they're expensive to get to if you've got a problem. I don't want them to hate me for recommending a car that's going to be a PITA. Thanks for any info.
PS. Her parents are used to driving Audi's, so Saab might be a pleasant reliability surprise?
