i have been a user of Mobil 5w30 since i bought my '02 9-5 aero. however, the key characteristic of the oil you want to use is that it passes the specifications outlined in your manual. i.e ACEA A3/B3, etc.
from the posts over the last few years, Mobil 1 is the popular choice, second may be AMSOIL...
here in canada, Mobil 1 is quite expensive compared to many others. i recently looked into Petro-Canada synthetic 5w40 which has all the requirments. I'm going to trial it and observe the dipstick every 1000 miles until 5k.
bottom line; you can do the same thing with an oil of your choice. if you're leary about trialing, go with Mobil 1.
