Similar thing happened to me last May, but I was doing 40 mph only 2 miles from home. Car sputtered and died as approaching an intersection and would not restart.
The bad news will be the cost to replace the pump. A OEM pump costs nearly $500, although labor to install should be under two hours. Make sure they install the recently repleased fuel line locking clip when they install the new pump. Thies $3 part prevents the fuel lines from popping off, and is a recall item for some model years.
