Find a low mileage used 9-5. I have had 2 cpo'd saab 9-5s and have been very happy with both cars. As far as repairs go I have been lucky, neither car has required major work. The cpo warranty protects you from the major costs that could crop up for the first few years of ownership. My 1999 is now approaching 80k miles and is every bit as tight and comfortable as my 02 with 30k on the clock. Buying a used 9-5 gets you to the payoff date about $10k sooner then buying and if the car is still in good shape at that point you can keep it and make no payments for a while. If the interest rates are headed down watch saab for a good deal, my car loan is at 2.9 for 5 years, I paid off all my other consumer debt but couldn't see the sense of paying this off. Check out saab usa. Your best bet would be to find a 1 or 2 year old car with low miles and a cpo warranty.
