Tody was the third Saturday in a row that I had two false alarms of the Theft Alarm Siren in quick succession during the afternoon. I scoured through my WIS and saw that the TWICE will sound the alarm if the siren batteries fail two successive tests, and that it stores the first test failure for 20 engine starts before resetting the register.
Based on my recent experience, and the 20 start rule in the WIS, I am guessing that TWICE tests the batteries once per week. I, and my neighbors, are very lucky that my car does this test on Saturday afternoons. ;^)
Guess it is time to remove the CR17335SE-FT batteries I installed in Oct/Nov of 2006, and follow Marcin's recommendation of a remote 4-AA cell battery pack, loaded with Lithiums, located in the engine bay above the siren.
Or find someone who can disable the siren test feature in the TWICE. Drats! I was just at the local Saab specialist Indy yesterday.
