They are fragile and expensive, but I use mine quite a bit. The cornering light feature (1999 and 2000's only) is really nice!
My driver's side fog lamp has had broken mounting legs since the Spring of 2001 when my car had only 30,000 miles on it. It still works, albeit pointing a little crooked, but it costs too much to replace. I have replaced my passenger side light twice, both because of broken lenses. The first rock was the size of a golf ball and lodged in the housing, the second rock was much smaller but still broke the lens and claimed the halogen lamp.
Both fog lenses now wear hevi-duty clear vinyl skins to protect them from small stones.
