Well I wouldn't say its busted just yet. I posted a while back about removing my alarm batteries completely and putting everything back. My siren has never false alarmed and it works perfectly, except for the STA message on the SID. I just clear it every time I start the car. I plan on having the message removed through Tech2 programming eventually. I would say the easiest and probably most inexpensive way to deal with it is to take out the batteries completely and program the SID to not display STA. Hope this helps!
