I ran across this really neat site with some Saab DIY projects, which I linked at the bottom of this thread (whoever you are, thanks so much, what a cool website), and found how to replace the seat heater bulbs without having to pay $6 per at the dealer. Well, I guess between 1999 and 2001 they changed the style of the bulbs to have the contacts soldered rather than wires wrapped around. So I dragged out the soldering iron, which was a mistake. The bulb base is so small, that the soldering iron just melted the plastic and the metal tabs fell right off. And, the little rubber covers had melted onto my old bulbs so they came off in little pieces, not usable on the new bulbs if I had even gotten them in. Here are some before and after pictures, haha. At least I only lost $3 to Radio Shack.
