I took the plastic engine cover off my car today just to do my yearly visual checkup. Other than the Niagra Falls dribble of oil from my oil cap which is dripping down the side and front of the engine, everything looked okay. Then I started the car and did some revs just to see that everything was sounding normal. When I did short spurts I got this weird popping/farting sound from a little silver soda can looking thing. There's one on each bank of cylinders, but only the front made noise. I don't know what the thing is, and should I be concerned at all? There's a picture and a short video clip below. Tell me what you think? Thanks.
