Well, I went out this morning to try to remove the hose from the bypass valve. The hose was falling apart in my hands covering me with black rubber dust. Decided I should go get some vacuum hose at Napa in case I broke the original stuff. Got home, ripped the old hose off and tried to suck air through the hose connected to the top of the BPV. It seemed to hold the vacuum just fine. Replacing some other vacuum hose I broke the f$%*!&% t-connector. So I taped that up and drove to my indy who luckily had a t connector. While I was there I showed him the sound and he said it was not the bypass valve. It was that little silver thing I was talking about and he said that sound is normal. So at least I've got some new vacuum hose.
