Saab last year or before installed new wheel bolts on all 9-3 and 9-5s on a recall notice. It really doesn't apply unless you live in cold climate and chnge to steel wheels in winter. That is the story they put out but the real problem is some of the bolts had a metalurgical defect and would fail due to intergrandular corrosion. Since "bolts is bolts" they did not know exactly where the bolts were and on which car so they replaced all in the fleet. Another message supplied in the package with the bolts is a tube of ANTI-SEIZE. SAAB recommends that this be used on all their wheel bolts especially under the captive cone washer and on the face of that washer where it meets the aluminum and absolutely on the threads. This information may be late for you but I would certainly have anti-seize used at next rotation. I am a frequent customer of Discount Tire and I don't have to ask for anti-seize on any of my SAABs- it is automatic. Oh BTW, many of the tire companies instructions have over torque data and it is higher than that recommended by SAAB for the five bolt wheels. I found one at 100 FP and most are torque rating for the 9000 (4-bolt). The torque should be 80 fp on all 5-bolt alloy wheels.
acording to SAAB the failures were occuring at the face of the cone so you should have enough sticking out to get a nut or a STUD REMOVER on the remainder.
