I brought it to the shop today and the owner said there is no way to fix it. The threads are cross threaded.
He ordered a new hub/wheel bearing assembly. It will cost Discount Tire over $300.00 for the repair.
He called them as I was standing next to the counter, they didn't question his judgment and will pay for the repair.
Discount Tire is a great company to deal with. I have purchased three sets of tires from them over the years and always get prompt courteous service and fair prices. Previous to this tire rotation, I went in with a nail in my tire, plus it was time for a rotation. They were busy, the bays were full and they had me out the door in 30 minutes and they didn't charge me for the repair.
I'll continue to do business with them and refer folks to them whenever possible.
Thanks to all for the comments.
